Wedding Perfume

Being engaged has given me so many ideas on sentimental ways to remember this special time in my life. One idea that a friend gave me was to find a perfume that will become my “Wedding Perfume.” I will wear it for any fun pre-wedding event, like a shower, or dress fitting, or cake testing, etc. Then after the wedding I will only wear it on each anniversary and the scent will remind me of this happy time preparing for my wedding day.

I thought it was a fantastic idea, but I have never bought perfume before. It’s just so hard to decide on a fragrance! I got a gift card to Ulta from my birthday, so I’m hoping to find a perfume there this weekend.

Perhaps you can help me on my quest? What is your favorite fragrance? Do you have a signature perfume?
Please share! I’d love some help. :)

  • I recently bought Philosophy’s Amazing Grace and love it! It is a great light every day scent.

I also like Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline, Calvin Klein Euphoria, Givenchy Very Irrestible, Stella McCartney Stella and Vera Wang Princess!

  • Red

I wear “Lovely” by Sarah Jessica Parker, but a few others that I love are “Daisy” and “Lola” by Marc Jacobs and “Code” by Armani. I love this idea! It’s very romantic. :)

  • SP

Cute idea! No perfume advice, but have fun!

  • I rarely wear perfume but when I do I wear “Alabaster” which is from Banana Republic. A friend got a sampler set at a special event and he’s a guy so he gave it to me. Not sure if they still sell it or if it’s even available where you are.

I’ve also in the past worn “Happy” by Clinique but again that might be a Canadian thing?

  • I love DKNY Be Delicious in Fresh Blossom (clean, floral, not too sweet) and Ralph Lauren Cool (veryyy clean and crisp, almost like linen).

    So romantic!

  • I used to use Clinique’s “Happy” (like Jenn…maybe it is a Canadian thing?!) and now am totally obsessed with Dior’s “Pure Poison.”

In fact, my Dior ran out THIS MORNING and now I need to re-buy or try something new! :) Cute idea, too.

Personally I’m not a fan of Happy, it actually makes me sick to my stomach! I usually wear a perfume called Hypnose by Lancome. It’s got a vanilla-ish scent to it (at least thats what I smell!)

I think this is an adorable Idea btw!

  • Fracas. It’s very old school and smells like white flowers.

Wow!! These are great suggestions! I like Clinique’s Happy but it’s a little too common for it to be my “wedding perfume” I think. Ah!! I’m so excited to go to Ulta this weekend! I’ll make sure to let you know what I end up getting. :)

  • Ness

My absolute favorite perfume is Kenzo Amour by Kenzo. It was fairly popular a couple of years ago..it was written up in Allure anyway. I’ve worn it since. I didn’t have a signature perfume until then. I absolutely love it! It smells lovely and fresh, and blends with my skin perfectly…that’s hard to describe, but perfumes smell differently on different people.
Good luck! This is a fun post idea!

  • Yeah..I don’t wear perfume. Occasionally I spritz on a floral one i was given for a birthday (I think it’s something ridiculous like Laura Ashley).

Personally I like fresh springlike fragrances, if that makes any sense at all?

My favourite fragrance just now is Cherie by Dior

I am also a huge fan of Chanel No. 19.

  • JK

What a cute idea! I use Cherie by Dior (comment above) on a regular basis too!
    I know it’s a cheapy, but I love JLo’s Still. I’m not sure if it’s discontinued. =/

  • Fig

    I love this idea!

Mmm the best perfume in the whole wide world is Angel by Thierry Mugler. Best. I promise. (Try to buy it at a discounted perfume shop though, it’s pricey!)

  • What a wonderful idea. Scent is a really powerful way to remember. I like l’Occitane Lemon Verbena and CK One. But like Ness already said, smells are different on each person. I would strongly recommend that you go someplace like Sephora where you can spritz and walk away. Leave the scent and live with it for a while. I can’t tell you how many scents smelled gorgeous out of the bottle and then made me sick once I wore them. Try it out on your honey too, because you never know what the reaction will be. Have fun!

  • Mary

I LOVE this idea- so romantic! I just received Dolce & Gabbana’s The One Rose from my boyfriend, and it’s wonderful! Daisy by Marc Jacobs is also great. Have fun perfume shopping this weekend!

  • OMG you are engaged!!! I have so much to catch up on still I see!!

  • Crista Hahn

I love Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel
