Well, dear readers, I had a very impulsive purchase last night.
I bought this netbook:
Oddly enough I have zero buyer’s remorse because:
1. I have the money to buy it. I anticipate getting at least $200 in babysitting cash this month. Plus I am getting $200 from my new roommate. I did intend on using that for other things, but oh well. This is justifiable.
2. I semi-need one. My old desktop at home is lacking. Plus it’s a desktop–not exactly the most convenient piece of machinery. And traveling be fantastic with this little guy. :)
3. It’s a killer deal. My boyfriend J (aka: Tech Bargain Hunter) confirmed it was awesome. The total was $211, including $1.99 shipping and zero tax. Cha-ching!
4. I’ve wanted one for months. And I haven’t bought myself anything like this in a long time.
I kind of feel like a child justifying why I did something wrong to a jury of PF bloggers. No it wasn’t in my budget, and yes, that money could be used somewhere else, but I am okay with my purchase. Once in a while, it’s okay to buy something you want. ;)
that’s great! It’s hard to remember sometimes, but the only person we have to justify things to is ourselves.
I know a few of the people that read my blog – and sometimes I feel like I have to justify things to them. But at the end of the day, I look at my PF blog as a history of my learning – and if I make a few mistakes, it’s all part of the curve.
Cute! And it was a good deal, hope you’re happy with it. I think we PF bloggers automatically feel like we should feel guilty for the purchases we make that aren’t essential to sustaining life. It’s ok, it just reminds us to examine our resources and make sure our bases are covered.
Haha, I love that you feel the need to justify – that’s how I always feel! I usually leave dollar values out, but I’m working on being more honest!
Let us know how you like it – I’ve been considering a netbook for when we go to France in September!
Totally wish I had one of those for my trip to Europe this month. Would be reeeeeeeeeaaallllllllly nice. =)
Also, what a kick-ass deal you got!
Just because you are trying to make the most of your money doesn’t mean you aren’t ever allowed to spend any of it! I’ve just blown a months savings on a last minute holiday and I don’t regret a penny of it.
I think it’s great. I just bought a new (and very fancy) TV, and I also don’t have an ounce of buyer’s remorse. At the moment I’m investigating buying the older version of the iPhone (not the snazzy new one). I think that as long as you budget and save and aren’t just spending with wild abandon – as I used to – you’re fine.
What the heck were you thinking!? I can’t believe you just wasted $200 on something you totally deserve, have the ability to pay for in cash, and will use frequently. So selfish of you :)
Nice buy! I’ve been contemplating getting one so that I can surf at work. That’s terrible, huh?
you got a great deal! Have fun surfing the net where ever you go!
Your justified in my mind but I have a lot on my credit card mostly from getting my business off the ground. I think. I am justify to and when the business get rolling it will be worth it.
