Confession: I SHOPPED!

shopping

I know I know I know. :( I said I wouldn’t shop, but I did. You all are probably sooo disappointed in me and I’m a terrible example of self discipline. I had a Friends and Family 30% discount at Banana Republic and the Gap and went to the OUTLETS. I just couldn’t give up the chance to buy $15 work pants. And $10 purple flats. And a $10 cardigan. And a few other pretty things…. I’m a failuuuure!

I thought about not sharing this little $120 budget deficit with you all, but of course I have to tell the truth on this blog. Budget and spending report need some work before they show their face on here.

  • OMG, I had the same discount and I used it at Old Navy. And I also thought twice about not putting up the damage. I decided against it and it will be my secret forever. But you are so right, I need to be held accountable. Maybe when some time has passed I will reveal the damage. LOL.

Just like Carrie said, you’re not a failure. What you are is a girl with a little less closet space and there isn’t a thing wrong with that.

  • Your not a failure at all – it happens! Don’t punish yourself – but maybe look at purging some clothes that you already have. Have any consignment stores in your neighborhood?

  • Serously, why did they have to send out all the coupons NOW? I almost cried as I got the 30% off coupons to all of my favorite stores. Argh!

Don’t beat yourself up too much. Try to hop back on the wagon, and I would apply filters to your email so you don’t even get tempted next time! If there’s something you really think you can’t live without, see if a family member will buy it as a gift!

  • I had a 30% off coupon for BR, Gap & Old Navy too for this past weekend. I probably would have bought things too if I hadn’t had to leave the mall to help out the BF. But the point is that I was willing to spend money that wasn’t in my budget, and I know that we’ve all been there before. So don’t beat yourself up over it. Be happy with the things that you bought because I’m sure they’re lovely and you got a great deal on things that you needed.

  • Tisk Tisk!

    For shame. =)

Hey, at least you bought all the stuff on discount. Hooray for 30% off coupons. I was so tempted to go to the Outlet Mall this weekend – but managed to resist the urge.

  • I had the same coupon. B used it to buy loads of new work clothes at BR. I wanted new stuff from The Gap, but luckily had no cash in my bank account to fund such an adventure! I also know I have some gift cards coming from cashing in reward points, so I convinced myself it was better to pay full price with gift cards than a discounted price with my own money (which I had none of anyway lol).

  • Leave all the tags on, take a day or two to think, and if you still feel good about the purchases, don’t stress. If you realize you don’t love all of the items, return them. That’s my shopping plan of attack!
