Kitchen Inventory

{photo above is not my pantry… but isn’t it pretty?}

As I mentioned in yesterday’s miscellaneous ramble, I’m not going to buy any groceries until I finish off my freezer/refrigerator/pantry. Well, I am giving myself $100 for groceries, but only if I buy something to pair with an item listed below. I spent waaaaaaaay too much on food in March, so this is my attempt to make up for it.

  • I am SO with you on this one. We had a lot of expenses last month and a whole lot more this month as our wedding planning kicks into high gear so we’re trying to be super-conservative this month. There’s honestly enough to feed an army in our freezer & pantry right now – if we can use that food up instead of making our usual weekly grocery trips, we’d be in good shape. Count me in!!

  • My pantry is not my own, so I can’t do that. But I have been trying to get my parents to not buy more juice until they finish all the powdered juice they have lying around in our cupboards. Big fail since there were three full gallons of OJ and Cranberry Juice sitting in the fridge as of this morning.

    I guess I’ll enjoy Lipton Iced Tea Mix all on my own.

  • I’m so with you on this one! I went way overboard in March too! I’ll have to restock a few essentials but otherwise I really need to use up what I’ve got!

  • We’re trying to get into the habit of planning our meals at least a week in advance and working in leftovers, etc. But our weekends have been so busy, we’ve dropped the ball for the last couple of weeks.

  • I think I’m going to try this. My cupboards and freezer are looking a little crazy and I’m trying to get back to normal this month. So I’ll try it with ya!

  • I would LOVE for my pantry to look like that. Actually, I would love to have a pantry :-) I’m always trying to eat down what I’ve bought in the past and never had a use for (ugh!). Perhaps I’ll actually find a use for all that frozen spinach and green beans!
