I’m writing this post in the middle of my echo-y bedroom, which is empty aside from my bed and a mouse trap. I’ll head to work for the last time in a little bit and tonight my parents and J drive up. Tomorrow morning our moving company will come pick up our boxes and furniture, then we head for our new home!
Moving is so bittersweet. So far it’s been mostly sweet anticipating my new job, new apartment, new life with J. But the last few days have been a little bit bitter. I hate getting sentimental, but I just can’t help it. Change is hard and I hate to say goodbye to friends. A handful of my closest coworkers are taking a long weekend, so we said our goodbyes yesterday. The scene reminded me of 8th grade girls who cry at the end of the school year–a little unnecessary and a lot emotional.
The next few days will be so exciting moving, getting settled, decorating, and starting my new job on Tuesday. I’ll be MIA for a bit, but upon my return I’ll make sure report the total moving costs, my new goals for June, and other little bloggy things I have up my sleeve. ;)
Washington, DC, it’s been a pleasure. See you all on the flipside!
