I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since that scary day.
I remember it was a cool, crisp September morning. I was eager for the school week to end so I could celebrate my 16th birthday that weekend. It was about ten minutes into algebra class when I first found out about the terrorist attack. My principal came into our room and said a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. I didn’t understand the magnitude of it until I learned of the attack on the Pentagon, second tower and the crash in Pennsylvania, and knew that our country was under attack. I spent the rest of the day watching horrific images on the news and praying for our nation.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all whose loved ones died that day. I am humbled and proud of all who stepped up to serve, and continue to sacrifice their lives for this great country.
May we never forget.
Definitely one of those days you cannot forget. It seems so long ago but not really because it’s so fresh in our memories!
