This past Saturday Allison and I threw a bridal brunch shower for our friend Emily. It was hosted at my mom’s house, which has the perfect set-up for parties. I’m losing count how many showers we’ve had there! It was an around-the-house shower theme and everything was yellow, white and gray. Allison made most of the decorations and I helped her with some when I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago. It was so fun to see it all come together to celebrate Emily’s big day!
The sunroom is the perfect spot for gathering around eating and opening presents.
The drink station may have been my favorite area.
The party started at 11, so of course we served coffee. :)
Here is the table before the party started. We served a lot of breakfast foods, so we waited until the very last minute before serving so the food would stay warm.
Here’s the food table after the party — we served hashbrown casserole, fruit skewers, mini frittatas, mini cinnamon puffs, quiche lorraine, sausage balls, spinach quiche and chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting. It was all delicious!
The bride! Look at that bling!
Emily with her mom and soon-to-be mother-in-law:
Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures opening up presents, but she got some awesome stuff. Lots of towels, kitchen utensils, bakeware and beautiful dishes from Crate and Barrel.
Can’t wait for the wedding in less than three months!
My only tips
is to begin planning early, there were tons of problems running about in the
final minute but it turned out terrific, it’s seriously worth planning in
advance. We located a list of 99 scavenger hunt ideas and put the topics on the
back of t-shirts which was the most wonderful evening! We found an excellent
bridal shower checklist and created some custom post cards and t shirts created
from this website:
