A Weekend in Boone

I love the North Carolina mountains. I went to school in Boone, NC, so every time I come back to those beautiful mountains, I get all nostalgic remembering college days, weekend trips with friends, reunions, weddings, football games… anyone who has gone to Appalachian knows what I’m talking about. It is the perfect place to come back to visit to reminisce and make new memories.

This past weekend I went to Boone for a bachelorette weekend for my friend Emily. The group of us that gathered was a mixture of different friends, so I only knew a few of the girls beforehand, but it ended up being such a fun weekend celebrating Emily together. We stayed in a cabin in between Boone and Blowing Rock (that funnily enough a few of us had stayed before – see below), and it has a large porch to look out on the prettiest view.

Saturday we at lunch at Woodlands Barbecue, then went to Grandfather Vineyard and Winery for a little wine tasting, and then went outlet shopping in Blowing Rock for some great September deals. We ended the evening eating at Mellow Mushroom and then hanging out back at the cabin.

It was such a great weekend and I can’t wait to celebrate Josh and Emily’s wedding in two months!

PS – My friends and I stayed in the cabin before, two years ago, and I found my journal entry in the guest book. :)

  • Oh, this makes me nostalgic. I also gasped “CATHLEEEEEEN!!!” in those pictures and thought of her amazing laugh. :) Glad you had a great weekend and got to soak up those gorgeous mountains!
